The Board of Directors and Staff at Creek County Rural Water District No. 2 would like to address the numerous water outages associated with the ongoing mainline replacement project along W 81st St So between 33rd and 43rd W Avenues.
This section of water main is extremely old, brittle, and was in urgent need of replacement. As a water district, it is our responsibility to maintain and improve the infrastructure that serves our customers and ensures long-term reliability of the water system.
We understand the frustration and inconvenience caused by the recent service interruptions as this project progresses. However, due to the condition of the existing mainline, breaks are occurring even when excavation equipment is working near the pipe.
We want to assure the public that the contractor is performing quality work and that these outages are largely the result of the deteriorated condition of the existing mainline.
The District sincerely apologizes for these inconveniences and greatly appreciates your patience and understanding as we complete these important system improvements for the benefit of the community.
Thank you, Creek County Rural Water District 2.
